Finally got a new PC

My amd 5000+ motherboard is slowly going, so I've been watching prices for a while.

Everything I was intending to get ended up being on sale so I finally bit the bullet:

- AMD Phenom x4 965
- MSI 970A-G46
- 8 GB DDR3 (bundled with the motherboard)
- Azza Orion 202EVO Black case

Plus a better heatsink, DVD drive and a few odds and ends.

I'll be reusing my existing power supply, hard drives and video card.

Will you be using this new computer to come back and game with us, or does Skyrim still own your soul?

well, your new one trumps mine.

The old AMD 5000+ BE lasted me for 4 and a half years (i found the shipping statement today) so this one will probably do just as long.

Total investment is a few dollars less than $400. In a year or so, i'll get whatever the second best nvidia is at the time.

I don't know how the memory works with the Phenom cores, but in Athlon's it was a number based off of the multiplier and bus speed. To get the memory at 800mhz, i had to overclock it a whopping 200mhz to 2.8.

Let me know what you find in regards to that. There was a mobo setting I had to change for mine, but I can't remember what it was. I'll check with I get home.

I went through the whole thing. couldnt' find it. However, it seems to work better than it did on my old PC, so I may leave it.
