| I posted this on Facebook as well, but I'm not friends with all of you on there. So what the hell, I'll post here too. My family is doing a walk for Alzheimer's, in honor of my grandma that passed away 5 years ago. All donations go towards finding a cure and treatment so hopefully one day people won't have to sit in a room with someone they love and know that grandma doesn't know who you are anymore. If any of you would be willing to donate I'll provide a link, if not, totally cool not mad at you. This is just something that is very near to my heart and it can't hurt to ask. http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk/General?px=6918548&pg=personal&fr_id=2063&s_src=f2fAlso, thanks again to Senility who has already donated. He may be gruff and ornery on the server, but damnit I like him anyways. | |

| Mr Shifty, I know this first hand as well, I had to move my Mom and step-dad into an assisted living facility in Nov 2011 because my step-dad is now well into stage 5. took my Mom to a doctor appointment on Thurs then I sat with my step-dad 4 different times over a 5 hour period he never did recognize me but we had good conversation and as i was leaving he said I feel like i made a new friend today, then he said i probably will not remember your name. I kinda laughed and said i think you will remember me and then he said I just hope I remember my name tomorrow. | |

| Having seen what it did to my Grandmother and now my mother, this one is very personal for me. When I go to visit my mom, I no longer try to get her to come back to the present. I ride with her through the decades- just so we can both enjoy the visit.
