AFK for a few days

i'm trying out windows 7 in a non work environment. I thought XP was bubbley-gum like back in 2000. WOW!

anywho, i gotta make sure my bios is up to date, reinstall games and apps, get used to the daily stuff, etc, etc.

Alright, someone gotta tell me how to either

a) turn off the damned processor throttling

or

b) assure me that what the bios says for my processor speed is correct and not what the OS and benchmark says

(AMD 5000+ BE OC'd to 2.8ghz so the ram runs at 800mhz).

It's in the bios under cool and quiet, disable that.

hey, i found how to put a quick launch in.

ok all setup.

The windows experience index tells me i want to get s SSD. No dice. i'll settle with 5.9 on that.

ET:QW even runs a little better.
