from time-to-time over the last year I would get these horrible lag slow-downs. Not related to the server's occasional rubber-band effect. So, I did a performance check in Windows 7 and it suggested turning off some Terminal Stay Resident programs like Adobe Reader, Quicktime, and iTunes Helper. They no longer load when I start-up and only run when I want them.

So, the effect this week over the last three days has been no lag slow-downs. I suspect each one of the three TSRs above wanted to "help" my computer to stay current, unfortunately it was when I was playing.

Just an observation.... :study:

bonjour services, error reporting services, search indexer and ipod services gobble up alot of ram and network too. i try to keep my processes under 40 when playing
