QuakeCon 2011 - Dallas TX

Someone send me a plane Ticket for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm planning to get a hotel room cuz I live in Austin and need to drive up. I might only be there one day but it will be all day and all night.

Hey Scootter, and anyone else who's gonna be there, it looks like I'm gonna roll through on my way to IL with the fam.. So it's gonna be an extended road trip starting on the 5th early heading up to Dallas, spending the day/night there, then proceeding to IL area on the 6th... Anyways, I managed to get away for the whole day like on Friday the 5th ideally... You guys up for crashing QuakeCon hard on the 5th and showing them how CrYpT does it big!?? When we roll, we roll DEEP!! Like at LEAST 2 people but we will party 10x just to make up for it!

Friday is cool. Have fun driving all the way to IL

Oh as for IL, sadly this won't be the 1st time. More like the 10th. I've done this wayyyyy too many times.. It's about 15 hours, so usually 8 and 7 or something like that... Not terrible. The worst part is at the end there is no pot of gold. Instead, just a couple of in-laws I am stuck with for about a week...

Ha! I make a comparable trip to Denver almost yearly. About 14 hours....but I have a pot of legal weed at the end of that trip

Oh man, everyone I know here in ATX has another house or brother or something up in CO. I'm jealous!!! I think I might need to buy some property up there, ya know, just so I have a local address/residence to put on my doctor's paperwork... I would love to live there but maybe only for Summers, I don't think I would make it through the Winters up there.. Although I grew up in Cleveland so...

Speaking of things, did you hear about Amsterdam's latest ruling?? Property value is about to soar there now!!

The last thing I heard was news a few weeks ago about the Dutch government trying to outlaw drug tourism. All the "coffee shops" will have to turn into private clubs with a limited number of memberships available...and you must be a Dutch citizen to join.

High Times said if you ever wanted to go to a Cannabis Cup, this is the year to do so. They may not ever have another one! Cannabis Cup happens in Nov.

Hopefully I'll be moving to CO in a year or so. Always wanted to live there, time to make it happen!

Ugh I gave up on red meat shortly after moving here. OVERLOAD. Nahh, but I have to mix it up all the time any more. Good turkey, pork, chicken, ribs, Tex Max, etc... Mmmm Mmmm Good!!

Texas is fun, that's where Snap is from. We lived down there for a short time, north of Dallas. After we moved back up north, my best friend moved to Austin and I've gone down there to visit once, we went 4wheeling in the desert, tons of fun. Austin was great! We're planning a trip down there for this winter, maybe we should do a Texas BBQ when we get down there.

Yeah there's plenty of room for CrYpT members down here in ATX. Hit me up when you're coming and I will take you to some killer BBQ. I live 8 mins from the World Famous "Salt Lick" (original) which is just over in Driftwood, TX so that's always a good plan if nothing else materializes!

haha. I've got a cookbook with some things I've been wanting to try. Marijuana Tincture for one. Small concentrated amount of liquid thc. I think you make it with everclear, lol.

Naww, I'm not baking or concocting anything, just putting square pegs in round holes so we can be safe, given the QuakeCon environment.. Then again, hopefully one of us has a nearby car handy to do some hot-boxing..

BTW, long ago, before there were graphics cards I used to play MUDs (Inorite?). Once a year everyone got together and we went to a renfair. It was the shit, got to meet a lot of cool people and learned a lot about the game by talking shop that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. I would love to make something like this, but won't be able to for another year at least. Hope you guys go and have fun.
