| I started with my usual CTL-ALT-DEL and stopped excess services running, then I rebooted my modem and router, then after the fifth boot, I went and changed the compatibility mode (Win 7 64 bit here) after one thread said PB has 64bit issues (size does matter)
I set PBA and PBB to run as WinXP sp3 compatibility. I will know after Sunday (today) whether this was a good choice because historically Sundays have a high frequency of booting me off servers for no-PB communications. |

| I was having punkbuster issues yesterday. Kicked me 4 times in a row for various bullshit reasons. I ended up deleting my punkbuster file and reistalling it. I keep the pb setup file on my desktop I use it so often. Was still getting kicked until I did a reboot. Been good since then. I run windows 7 pro 64 bit and haven't had any issues with it and pb, that might not be your problem. A fresh punkbuster install might help you. worth a shot it is ussally my first step when pb starts giving me problems. | |

I had the same issue. Reinstalling PB didn't fix it. I had to reinstall ETQW, then PB. This resolved the issue.

| punk buster is no longer supported means they don't take trouble tickets for pb etqw related issues. You can still install it. I did it the same day Nanobot was having his problem I got kicked 4 times that day and was good after a reinstall of pb and a reboot. | |

| This issue has been noted on other forums as well and can be from either Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender. You have to turn off "Real Time Protection" and the PB kicks immediately stop. | |

| I had trouble with it for a couple days, but after I downloaded various updates for my system and security, the problem just kinda stopped. I guess I can count myself lucky, eh? |

| I recently reinstalled my system from scratch after installing a new SSD main drive. I then was getting kicked by PB repeatedly; turning off Realtime Time Protection in Windows Defender eliminated the problem. | |

Looking for other suggestions.

| have you tried deleting or renaming your pb folder and replacing it with a copy of someone elses pb folder. that might work you would still have all the registry entries, and current files from someone who is not having pb issues. I have a pb install from 11/5/11 if you want the pb folder I can send it to you I uploaded my 11/5/11 pb file to Game Front here is a link to it if you want to give it a try | |

| I need help desperately. Remember I am new to Windows 7 having spent most of my life on Macs. I installed a new SSD recently with a new Windows system install and ETQW game on it. Long story short I am now getting kicked every 2 minutes by PunkBuster. I went to the BH website, downloaded the files and replaced the PB file at
C:\\Program Files x(86)\iD Software\ETQW\PB
I have turned off Windows Defender and Real Time Protection. Still won't work. Any ideas?

| I tried installing meat-puppet's copy of PB and that didn't work either. There must be some hidden file I am not replacing???? | |

| They have said replacing it in C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster should do it.

| Honestly, every single time I've reloaded my system, I ran into the same problems. I'd just reload the os again and it worked....weird and seemingly impractical way around the problem, but that's what worked for me. | |
